ELKALUB Silikonöle sind chemisch neutral, nahezu unbrennbar und weisen eine hohe Stabilität gegenüber Wärmeeinwirkung oder anderen physikalischen und chemischen Einflussfaktoren auf. Als Resultat ergibt sich eine sehr lange Lebensdauer. Der sehr hohe Viskositätsindex von Silikonölen äußert sich in einer geringen Abhängigkeit von Viskosität und Temperatur. Die Öle sind bei sehr niedrigen Temperaturen einsetzbar und ändern ihre Viskosität bei Temperaturerhöhung vergleichsweise wenig. Der Einsatz von ELKALUB Silikonölen für Schmierungsaufgaben begrenzt sich auf Gleitbewegungen bzw. auf Schmierungen im unteren Belastungsbereich. Für die Paarung Stahl-Stahl wird der Einsatz von Silikonölen nicht empfohlen.
